Built by CAs,
for India’s financial reality
97+ free calculators for GST, Income Tax, Loans, Salary, Investment, and Agriculture โ built by practising Chartered Accountants and verified for accuracy against Indian law.
Why CalcDesk exists
Most online calculators are built for Western markets and adapted for India by swapping “$” with “โน”. The formulas are generic, the rules are approximated, and the results often don’t match what your CA tells you.
Indian financial calculations are genuinely complex. GST has five slabs with CGST/SGST/IGST split based on transaction type. Salary structures involve EPF (split between EPF and EPS at different rates), state-specific Professional Tax, HRA with different metro and non-metro rules, and income tax now has two competing regimes that require individual evaluation. Gratuity is calculated under the Payment of Gratuity Act with specific qualifying conditions. Stamp duty varies by state, property type, and buyer gender.
CalcDesk is built from the ground up with these India-specific rules coded correctly โ not approximated. Every formula references the actual Act, Section, or Rule it implements. Every percentage rate is updated the day a government notification changes it.
CA Vaidik Acharya
Vaidik is a practising Chartered Accountant with over 12 years of experience in direct taxation, GST compliance, payroll advisory, and investment planning for individuals and businesses across India.
Having spent years answering the same financial questions from clients โ “How much tax will I save if I switch regimes?”, “What is my actual in-hand salary?”, “How much will my SIP grow in 20 years?” โ Vaidik built CalcDesk to give every Indian access to the same accurate, CA-grade answers without having to schedule an appointment.
“Most people make financial decisions based on rough estimates or half-remembered rules. CalcDesk exists to replace guesswork with correct calculations โ and to do it in 30 seconds, for free.”
A team of practising CAs
CalcDesk calculators are built and reviewed by a team of Chartered Accountants with specialisations across every area the platform covers. Every formula is independently reviewed before any calculator goes live.
CA verification process
Every CalcDesk calculator goes through a four-step verification process before publication and is re-reviewed every time government rules change.
- Formula is derived directly from the relevant Act, Rule, or Government Notification โ not from secondary sources
- Edge cases are tested: metro vs non-metro HRA, EPS salary cap, composition scheme thresholds, surcharge slabs
- Output is cross-verified manually by a CA in the relevant specialisation before the tool goes live
- Rates and rules are updated immediately on any CBDT, GST Council, EPFO, or state government change
- All India Rank calculators reference PLFS, CMIE, RBI, and Census data with citations shown in the tool
Built for scale, built for India
Every calculation runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. CalcDesk never sees your salary, loan amount, GST turnover, or investment figures. No database, no user accounts, no analytics on what you calculate.
Our principles
Accuracy first
Every calculator cites the exact section of law it implements. We update the same day rules change โ tax slabs, EPF rates, GST notifications.
Privacy by design
Your financial data is yours. It never leaves your device. No database, no accounts, no tracking of what you calculate.
Mobile first
Built for a 375px screen first. Large tap targets, readable results, no horizontal scroll โ because most Indians use a phone.
No friction
No login. No email. No ads. Open, calculate, share. The entire experience in three steps.
India-specific rules
Not a Western calculator with โน swapped in. Every rule โ EPF/EPS split, HRA metro/non-metro, state stamp duty โ is coded correctly.
Always current
FY 2026-27 tax slabs. Current EPF rate 8.25%. Latest GST Council notifications. Current MSP rates. Updated as India updates.
